Today marks the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of The Netherlands.
On May 5, 1945, Canadian forces freed the Netherlands from five years under German occupation.
The Dutch remain eternally thankful to the courageous Canadians who overcame the Nazis.
In Okotoks, Anneke and Gary Scholten placed 80 tulips on the "Salute to our Veterans" wall to honour this occasion and honour all those who fought for our freedom, a gift we cherish every day.
